Wealthy States Highjacking COVID – Vaccine, revealing the true face of the pandemic!
Even though there are several vaccines in the World Market, only wealthy Nations with financial power have given priority to order, a BBC report reveals. The organisations that are active on health and wellbeing of world population warns, due to this anomaly, countries with weaker economies will miss the opportunity to immunise their people. The Oxfam, Global Justice Now and Amnesty International and many more such organisations, have come together to form an alliance called “The People’s Vaccine Alliance” to take action in this regards.
Great Britain finalising the COVID – 19 Vaccine produced by Oxford-AstraZeneca as the vaccine that potentially guarantees immunity, has come up with a priority program to cater its citizens. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine too, will get approval soon from the United States and the European Union Drug Administrations.
The Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines already started the human trial for selected volunteers in a few countries, and the vaccines are ready for wholesale distribution. The Sputnik vaccine produced by Russia and Sinovac had by China has come to the World’s notice. Hence, Brazil, Turkey and Chile have already finalised agreements to order Chinese Sinovac vaccine. There are many countries in a competitive situation to order vaccines that are with potential efficacy of immune to COVID – 19; still, the approval of the World Health Organisation not yet granted.
Critically proven data reveals that the doses of vaccines been ordered by World’s wealthy States almost triple than that their actual population needs. There are 8 COVID – 19 Vaccines has the World’s attention and wealthy nations, which with only 14% of the world population have reserved 53% of the total production of COVID vaccines produced so far. An example of the irony of situation beyond comprehension is that Canada already reserved enough COVID – 19 vaccines to vaccinate her entire population not once or twice but five times over.
Like everything else, wealthy nations again has the capital might over developing countries to immunise their people against COVID – 19 Pandemic. When it comes to economic capability, developing countries like debt-ridden Lanka left with not even an opportunity come up with a strategy to fight against the pandemic.
